Conversational Business Intelligence

Conversational BI means getting answers from business data by asking questions in plain language, instead of writing queries or building dashboards.

Conversational business intelligence (BI) is a way of getting answers from business data by asking questions in plain language, in a conversation, instead of writing queries or building dashboards. The system works out which data the question needs, runs the analysis and replies with numbers, a chart and an explanation.

Follow-up questions build on earlier ones, so a person can move from a headline figure to the detail behind it. Traditional BI depends on analysts to model data and publish reports in advance; conversational BI answers the question someone has right now.

For example, an operations head asks how many orders shipped late last week, then which warehouse caused most of them, and gets both answers in the same thread.
